It happened at 11.14pm on the Switchback Road near to Peel - the girl has been named locally as St Ninian's pupil, Lucia Porter.
Upon arrival at the scene emergency services found the vehicle in a field adjacent to the road.
Police say there were eight teenagers in the car - five are in Noble's Hospital receiving treatment for their injuries.
Lucia's death has led to an outpouring of grief on her Facebook page, with her mother leading the tributes saying 'she will be missed more than words can express'.
