A teenager from Poland will be sentenced next month after breaking a stranger's nose in an unprovoked attack.
19-year-old Wicktor Pszczolkowski, of Hawarden Avenue in Douglas, appeared at Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday.
Assisted in the dock by a translator Pszczolkowski pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm.
The court heard he'd begun following a man, and his group of friends, on Fairfield Terrace on the evening of January 11th.
Pszczolkowski grabbed at the man before starting to throw punches - he then punched him in the face breaking his nose and leaving him requiring surgery.
The teenager was later found topless and screaming on Bucks Road - when interviewed by officers he told them he couldn't remember what had happened due to his intoxication.
Describing the incident as a 'very unpleasant, unprovoked, random attack' the prosecutor told the court the two men were strangers who had never met or spoken before.
A Social Enquiry Report will be compiled before Pszczolkowski is sentenced on February 26th - he's been bailed until that date.
