A teenager from Douglas has been banned from the road after being caught driving without a licence.
17 year old Liam David Skillicorn, of Lheannag Park, was stopped by police on Imperial Terrace on February 19.
Officers found he was driving with no licence or insurance and that the Ford Fiesta he was in was in a dangerous condition.
Skillicorn later pleaded guilty to all three offences and appeared at Douglas Courthouse for sentencing last week.
The court heard the Fiesta had a missing fuel cap, issues with the exhaust and problems with both wing mirrors.
Skillicorn's advocate said the teen had only driven a short distance adding: "He accepts it was a stupid mistake to make."
Magistrates fined him £820 and disqualified him from driving for three months - they also ordered he pay prosecution costs of £50.
