A teenager left a man with a broken cheekbone and brandished a knife during a vicious New Year's Eve attack.
Kyle Reeder, of Peveril Road in Douglas, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted assault causing grievous bodily harm, affray, possession of a knife and assaulting a police officer.
The 17-year-old started a fight after someone shouted Happy New Year on Douglas Prom on December 31 - he punched a man four times and slashed open his victim's jacket with the blade.
When police arrived Reeder punched one of the officers and had to be subdued with incapacitant spray.
Because he'd been 16 at the time of the offences, he was sentenced as a juvenile and given an 18-month probation order.
