A teenager from Peel has been told to 'grow up' and stop committing 'stupid offences'.
19-year-old Darius Mathew Brown, of Carmane Close, appeared at Douglas Courthouse.
He'd previously admitted taking a VW Golf without the owner's consent on April 22nd.
Police were called to The Hope in St Johns just before 3.30am after reports the car was being driven dangerously.
It was seen hitting a parked car, mounting the curb and speeding - officers found Brown, who'd been a passenger in the vehicle, hiding in a bush.
Magistrates ordered him to carry out 80 hours of community service and endorsed his driving licence with eight penalty points.
They told him: "I think it's time you grew up - you seem immature for your age. You've got to take stock of your life."
