Isaac Nathan Cain of Johnny Watterson’s Lane in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 18 year old admitted one count of criminal damage at Riverdale in Braddan on June 5.
The court heard he smashed a window and climbed into a woman’s apartment shortly before midnight after trying to gain entry to another home nearby.
He later told police he’d been on a 10-day cocaine binge and had drunk a bottle of spirits that day before breaking in to what he thought was his father’s home.
Mrs Hughes told Cain he’d terrified the householder and was on his last chance because he’d been serving a suspended sentence at the time of the offence.
She put him on probation for two years, and ordered him to pay £125 costs and £500 compensation by a £10 a week deduction from his income support.
