A teenager who ran off when police tried to search his car for drugs has been given a conditional discharge.
Owen Brian Canpia of Clybane Road in Farmhill admitted obstructing a drugs search when he appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this week.
Police officers smelled cannabis when they spoke to the 17 year old in the car park of Ballacottier School on Saturday November 11 - but he ran off and was spotted throwing something away.
Mrs Hughes imposed a conditional discharge for two years, and ordered him to pay £125 costs.
