Teaching unions have hit back at claims that Island pupils are subjecting their teachers to physical violence and verbal threats.
Four unions say they don't believe a survey conducted by NASUWT, and published yesterday, is a "true reflection" of young people.
It claimed 82 per cent of teachers had experienced problems outside the school gates and 30 per cent had lost more than 30 minutes of teaching time per day as a result of poor behaviour.
Jessica Eglenick and Carol Walsh are from the National Union of Teachers and National Association of Headteachers respectively:
Sue Moore is from the Association of School and College Leaders - she says whilst there are concerns about the behaviour of a small number of pupils the issue is in hand:
MEDS phone line to be down temporarily
Committee to examine link between poverty and poor academic performance
Police advice for trick-or-treaters to stay safe
