Teachers could get a longer Christmas break as part of a new pay offer from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.
Members of the NAHT will take part in a ballot to see if they want to accept the government's new offer, after rejecting the last one in January.
The revised offer includes a consolidated payment of 2% for teachers and lecturers backdated to September 2021, an additional 20 cover supervisors, and closing schools for Christmas on December 21.
The ballot will close to members on Tuesday May 3.
