Taxpayers shell out one million to support car park

 

That's the Infrastructure Minister - last week he was asked to reveal what he thought his department had wasted money on over the last five years. 

 

The agreement - between government and Douglas Borough Council - is in the process of being renegotiated so that support for it can be phased out. 

 

Before these negotiations started Phil Gawne said his department would have faced expensive legal action if it had broken the contract which he described as "poorly drafted":
