The Department of Education, Sport & Culture is to continue talks with teaching staff and unions over proposed new legislation for Island education.
DESC Minister, Graham Cregeen MHK, made the statement as it was announced earlier this week the draft Education Bill would now go before Tynwald later this year.
The Minister had hoped to bring the bill forward this month, but following an overwhelming response to a public consultation on the matter he says his department needs more time to perfect it.
The proposed legislation is now expected to be put before the court following parliaments summer recess.
