Talks on future of Maughold ahead of Northern Area Plan

Friday, February 14th, 2020 8:36am

By Ewan Gawne - Local Democracy Reporter

Maughold residents are being asked to think about how the parish could develop to have a ‘sustainable future’.

The government is in the initial stages of creating a new area plan for the north and west of the Island.

Landowners, developers and residents have been invited to put forward their suggestions on which sites should be built on.

The deadline for people to submit views, during what’s known as the ‘call for sites’ process, will end on 28 February.

Garff Commissioners held a meeting this week, to discuss the implications of a Northern Area Plan on the small rural communities in Maughold.
