A man serving time in prison will have to stay there another six weeks after admitting possessing ecstasy.
Dylan Jordan Ritchie appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this week.
He was stopped by police at the junction of Marathon Road and Broadway at 10.30pm on Saturday, February 18.
When officers asked him if he had anything on him, he told them he had MDMA tablets.
A search uncovered two plastic baggies containing 17 pills with a street value of £180.
Mrs Hughes told Ritchie, who had previous convictions for possessing class B and C drugs, that possessing class As was a surefire route to jail.
She imposed a six week prison sentence, to be added to the eight weeks he’s currently serving.
