An Onchan MHK wanted to know what work permit checks are happening in the hospitality sector.
At Tynwald, MHK Julie Edge asked Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston about the departments process for employer compliance.
Ms Edge said a person was found by the police, working on Island without a permit and wanted to know what checks are happening.
Mr Johnstone said they do carry out checks but as there is no border policy, people can freely travel to the Island, and if they turn to breaking the law it's nothing the department can stop.
