Switch to 'cloud infrastructure' will save government 15% operating costs

A major new scheme implemented by Government will see operating costs reduced by 15 percent.

They will be implementing what is known as a cloud infrastructure, which will see government’s 9,000 staff granted more reliable and efficient access to over 1,000 applications.

Effectively it will see current data storage methods transferred to one of three central server hubs, this will make transfers significantly quicker and speed up the process of disaster recovery.

Aswell as reducing operating costs it has significantly increased storage utilisation by over 40%
