A woman who struggled with police, trying to bite them as she was detained, has been handed a suspended prison term.
Kimberley Alice Parker of Bromet Road in Castletown appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to resisting officers at her home on March 26 last year.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing police were called to her home over an unrelated incident and found her extremely drunk and abusive.
As they tried to arrest her, she inhaled a can of deodorant and shouted ‘I hope your children die’ before kicking out as she was carried to a police van.
Her advocate told the court Parker had a longstanding alcohol problem but had now sought help and seen a huge turnaround in her life.
Mr Brooks imposed a 12-week jail term, suspended for 12 months, fined her £500 and ordered her to pay £300 costs.
