Fire crews have been stood down after attending reports of a possible gas leak at Battery Pier.
A total of five appliances were deployed from both Douglas and Laxey fire stations - including three pumps, an aerial ladder platform and a foam carrier.
A gas alarm had been activated due to vapours from a spirirt tank at Manx Petroleums.
However a full check of the tank and the systems show there was no leak but due to their being no air movement in the area simply a build up of vapour.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says emergency procedures for the area worked well.
