The Police have said Social Media is set to become a valuable tool in the way they deliver their services.
The public were recently asked to offer their thoughts on how the Police Force could improve the way they communicate information on the internet.
The Northern Policing Team have already set up a facebook page which has proved a big hit.
A lot of the feedback has suggested The Police set up their own twitter feed.
Some suggested that road updates on twitter and a platform to report minor driving transgressions would also be a good step forward.
Inspector Derek Flint has said that they are now looking at the feedback they received and planning how best to impliment the suggestions.
