Four surveys of the Island's aquatic life are due to take place over the coming months.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says the Manx Fish Producers Organisation and Belfast's Agri-Food and Bioscience Institute will carry out the work.
The MFPO will survey king and queen scallops in two studies between May 13 and June 11.
Two more surveys will be conducted by the Agri-Food and Bioscience Institute from May 25 until July 2.
