Students mark Armed Forces Day on the Isle of Man

Around 100 students will be joining the veterans on their parade

Tomorrow is Armed Forces Day across the UK with hundreds of war veterans marking the occasion on the Island with the traditional parade along Douglas promenade with a church service and reception to then be held at the Villa Marina.

Around 100 students will also be joining the veterans; the Schools first got involved in 2007.

For St Ninian’s High School especially it’s the culmination of a year of work on the events of World Wars One and Two, and how they impacted the people of the Isle of Man.

The Douglas high school will be setting up a mock TV studio at the Villa where they will hold a question time style event featuring 6 militiary personnel past and present, sixth form students will be coordinating the event.

The Parade will begin at 3pm.
