Treasury Minister Alex Allinson says struggling families may be able to ease financial worries with benefits.
In the House of Keys this week, he faced questions from Arbory, Malew and Castletown MHK Jason Moorhouse.
He wanted to know what help is available to people on minimum wage who work long hours and so don't necessarily qualify for help.
Dr Allinson said they should contact benefits staff for advice:
Ramsey Remembrance service to be marked by maroon rockets
MEDS phone line to be down temporarily
Committee to examine link between poverty and poor academic performance
Police advice for trick-or-treaters to stay safe
