The government says the storms of 2024 and 2025 brought an unexpected payday - with more than 28,000 tonnes of wood exported.
A Freedom of Information request asked how much timber had been sent off the Island after trees in plantations were brought down by high winds.
In its response, the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture revealed it had sold 28,758 tonnes for off-Island use following bad weather.
But it won't leave us short of planks - DEFA estimates there's still a total of nearly 350,000 tonnes of lumber in the Island's plantations.
