The vehicle a silver Lexus IS 200 car has been travelling in the direction of Baldrine when it has collided with a grass hedge near to the Liverpool Arms Pub.
The vehicle has then continued a short distance before being abandoned on the tramlines on Groudle Road.
Police believe that the collision has occurred sometime around 1.30am.
Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything or seen someone walking from the area.
