The Steam Packet Company is hopeful Manxman will resume service ‘imminently.’
It comes as the vessel had repeated power issues during its crossing to Heysham yesterday.
The decision was made for Manxman to return to Douglas rather than risk entering Heysham Port.
The company says the ship’s engineering team have traced the source of the fault and has established procedures for dealing with the situation if it happens again.
The Ben-my-Chree has taken over all of today's Manxman sailings.
