The Department of Health is urging people to ensure they stay warm and healthy this winter.
The Island, along with the UK, is set for a very cold couple of weeks with wintry showers expected.
Those people wary about soaring energy bills are able to book home checks through government, where experts will offer advice and energy saving tips.
The Public Health division say each winter there are a number of deaths because of the colder conditions.
