The government says its ‘immediate priority’ is to protect the Island’s most vulnerable amid the cost of living crisis.
That’s according to a statement issued by Chief Minister Alfred Cannan this evening.
It reveals he chaired a meeting of the Economic Strategy Board this afternoon to consider what further action the government can take to support our people and our economy with escalating cost of living pressures.
Mr Cannan says they agreed the “immediate priority” had to be to protect our most vulnerable.
It’s expected the Chief Minister and and the Treasury Minister will make a further announcement later this week.
He said:
"We also agreed that more needed to be done to help others beyond these groups. I will chair a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday and will then meet all members of Tynwald to consider options for broader support.”
