Stanley Clucas is stepping down as Captain of the Parish of Rushen.
The area's local authority has announced his retirement, noting that Mr Clucas has been an integral part of the community, after being appointed Captain in 1998.
He also served as a commissioner for many years and showed continued devotion to many charities and organisations.
The Lieutenant Governor will appoint a new Captain of the Parish in due course.
