Fully staffing the Island's Meat Plant is a 'significant challenge,' with staff attendance averaging around 75%.
That's according to a recent report, following an audit of the facility.
It was found that many staff are under-trained and learning on the job without much supervision, and no long term training and staff development programme is in place.
As a result of the report, Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Clare Barber has been appointed chair of the Meat Plant while a 'turnaround plan' is developed.
