From next week, a new Knight Commander will take the lead at St John Ambulance on Island.
Chief Officer, John Gill, will take up the role from next Wednesday (June 24) with the man currently in the post, Steve Sieling, set to step down.
Mr Sieling confirmed that whilst he’s stepping down, he will still be very much involved with the charity and is looking forward to being an active CFR, as well as providing crucial ambulance training for its front-line teams
Meanwhile, Mr Gill says he's honoured to be taking up the position, adding Mr Sieling has been an 'exceptional role model'.
He adds he looks forward to continuing the relationship the charity has with the Isle of Man Ambulance Service.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the organisation's Director of Governance, Martin Benson, will take up Mr Gill's position of Chief Officer.
June 24 is also St John Day, where all charity members are recognised and celebrated for their commitment and length of service as well as new appointments.
The organisation has also played a key role in the Islands response to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing a prescription delivery service to support those who've had to self-isolate during lockdown.
John told us about his new role:
