\'Attitudes and perceptions will be challenged when detractors are invited to the same-sex ceremonies to see the positive effects of the bill come into fruition.
A leading spokesperson for the UK’s Lesbian and Gay Foundation has heralded the recent Civil Partnership developments on the Island as a fantastic step in the right direction.
	
	The proposed Bill was given the all-important Royal Assent in Tynwald yesterday with it to be introduced into Manx law in April.
	
	Homosexuality was only decriminalised on the Island in 1992.
	
	Joanne Dunning from the Foundation has said she understands there will still be members of the Island’s community with negative views on the matter, but she hopes attitudes and perceptions will be challenged when detractors are inevitably invited to the same-sex ceremonies to see the positive effects of the bill come into fruition.
