The number of people on the Island affected by personal data breaches leapt by 38 per cent at the end of last year.
Figures from the Information Commissioner's Office shows in the last three months, 16,600 people found their data at risk following an incident.
That's well up on the previous three months when just 12,000 people were affected.
The ICO says breaches from big organisations were largely to blame, with more people caught up in single breaches.
