Speed restrictions will be in place from next week on sections of the main highway between Douglas and Peel.
The Department of Infrastructure says the usually derestricted stretch of the A1 between Crosby and Peel will be subject to 50mph speed limits from February 12 to 28 with temporary sign posts to be put up where necessary.
Highways Services says, to minimise impact for commuters and school runs, workers will only be on the stretch each day during that period between 9am and 3.30pm.
Affected areas will be restricted to a single carriageway, controlled by temporary traffic lights whilst this work is underway.
