The Department of Infrastructure has had to bring in specialist contractors in order to make progress with dredging Douglas Harbour.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall was asked in the House of Keys this week for an update on the works by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
Mr Crookall said a raised area in the central harbour has been causing problems for navigation with boats.
He explained why the problem had proved hard to solve:
Merchant Navy Day marked this week
Filipino festival planned for Laxey
Glen Maye requisition meeting scheduled
Viking longboat races today
Postal vote applications have to be in soon
