Special constables won't replace permanent cops says Minister

Special constables will not replace full time police officers on the Isle of Man. 

That's the pledge from the Home Affairs Minister who says the volunteer staff will only ever be used to complement the Manx police force. 

In the House of Keys yesterday Bill Malarkey confirmed a senior management team was appointed this year to manage the Special Constabulary with a recruitment drive planned for 2017:
