Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall says he hopes the government will change the rent thresholds for social housing later this year.
During this week's House of Keys sitting, he was quizzed on the changes by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
He wants to know when the threshold figures, which reflect how much people earn, would be raised.
Mr Crookall said the increases would have to be approved by Tynwald:
Extra promenade bus facilities would cost estimated £735k
Medieval cross returned home to Royal Chapel
Arbory MHKs in "parasite politicians" spat
Tyson Fury's boxing glove sold for £7k in charity auction
Parcels may be hit by customs charges under EU rules
Number of police searches rises by nearly 37 percent
