Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw has spoken about the challenges faced by the Island’s current benefit system.
He spoke specifically about the way that individuals are put through education only then to make the conscious decision to claim benefits.
The Douglas East MHK was speaking following the announcement that a public consultation is to be launched reviewing a range of social benefits.
Mr Robertshaw said the very culture of the benefit system had be reassessed to boost individual potential.
