The Social Care Minister says he's monitoring the issue of rent allowance and payments closely following issues raised by Onchan Commissioners.
The authority suggested the DSC should pay rent allowance directly to housing bodies instead of the individual to avoid arrears.
The minister rejected this saying a similar system had already failed in the UK.
However, Chris Robertshaw said he does except there is some merit in the argument.
He told us this isn't a new issue and would assess options moving forward
