January was the Island's sixth-sunniest on record, according to Ronaldsway Met Office.
Meteorologists say the cold air mid-month meant skies were unusually clear, with 8.1 hours of sunshine on January 30.
They add it was less windy than usual, too, with mean speeds of 15 knots.
But January brought three named storms and six days of gales, with the strongest gusts during Storm Isha on January 21, when a 70mph blast was recorded.
