Should sale of 'Chinese lanterns' be banned?

That's the question posed by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) in a public consultation looking to address concerns from the Manx National Farmers' Union.

 

The Union says it follows proof that some livestock had ingested lantern parts. 

 

The Fire Service has also voiced its concerns about public health risks - such as burn injuries. 

 

People can respond to the proposal by calling the OFT on 686500 by 3 July.
