Motorists are being urged not to travel tonight unless they have to due to severe widespread flooding.
The sheer volume of water is overpowering drainage systems on the Island leading to a number of road closures and even a landslide on the Mountain Road.
Police say resources are now stretched so not all flooded areas have been marked.
