Department of Education And Children Host Awareness Sessions Starting In January
Parents will get the chance to find out more about drug and alcohol misuse in young people in the early New Year.
The Department of Education and Children will run two hour long sessions which are seen as a more compact version of the ‘How to Drug Proof Your Kids’ sessions run in the past.
The sessions will equip parents with the relevant details needed to have informed talks about the dangers of drugs and alcohol with their children.
Outside experts will be invited to talk at the meetings.
They’ve come about after numerous parents expressed that they feel they don’t know enough about the weighty topics to have a proper discussion with their children, especially teens who may be exposed to them.
The first session will take place on 25th January at Castle Rushen High School.
