Serious consequences if legislation is not changed says CWC

The chief commercial officer of Cable and Wireless has said there could be serious consequences for the Island if telecommunications legislation is not updated.

Yesterday (Monday) the company issued a report which showed that out of the 37 countries Cable and Wireless operates in, the Island ranks 36th for having the most ineffective system of telecoms competition law and regulation.

The Communications Commission has responded to the claims and accused Cable and Wireless of going on a "public relations offensive” which is threatening to damage the international reputation of the Isle of Man. 

However Andy Bridson told 3FM the reason they had published the findings was actually to avoid this:
