A 'serious assault' which saw a man receive a puncture wound to the abdomen was the reason behind 10-hour road closure yesterday.
Police shared the information, in an update released this morning.
Groves Road in Douglas was closed from 6am yesterday, and only re-opened at 4pm.
People were asked to avoid the area - which saw the route closed from the junction with the New Castletown Road through to the entrance to the NSC.
Officers say they're investigating the assault - with the young man involved now in hospital receiving treatment.
His injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.
A number of people have been arrested and the investigation of this incident is still continuing but authorities believe this was an isolated incident due to a dispute between those concerned.
Police say they're aware a number of videos are circulating on social media - and ask if anyone saw what happened or has information to call DC 170 SMITH on 631212 or call Isle of Man CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111
