Self-confessed porn addict admits possessing dozens of indecent images of children

A self-confessed porn addict from the north of the Island has admitted possessing dozens of indecent images of children.

Ryan Owen Pegg, also known as Fairbairn, of the Larivane Estate in Andreas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.

The 30 year old admitted possessing 59 still images and one movie between January 2018 and 2023.

Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court the images came to light as police investigated an unrelated allegation and seized a number of devices.

When interviewed by officers, Pegg told them he had no sexual interest in children but was addicted to porn and watched up to 300 movies a day.

He said he may have downloaded the images but had deleted them immediately.

Magistrates bailed him in the sum of £500 and asked for reports to be prepared before he's sentenced on August 17.
