An explosive dating back to the 2nd world war has been found in Ramsey.
At around 2:15PM yesterday afternoon a 2LB high explosive artillery shell was found in the lane between Walpole Drive and Queens Drive West.
The area was closed off for public safety but after expert examination is was discovered that it was empty of ammunition and was removed from the area.
Old ammunition or grenades have been found on many occasions throughout the Island. Members of the public are being reminded that if any items are location to contact the police.
