Police say their second round of winter car checks found less defects than the first night.
Yesterday evening, Friday, October 31, police stopped a total of 30 cars in St Johns as part of the freshly launched Operation Uplift.
Officers say only 10 were found to have lighting or minor tyre defects, with only one having a serious defect.
Sergeant Lee Wright said though the results were better than Wednesday's checks, there are still a worrying amount of vehicles with defective tyres, especially considering the damp roads at this time of year.
