There is growing concern in Scotland over the Isle of Man’s decision to introduce a bylaw banning their trawlers from fishing for scallops.
Traditionally Scottish trawlers will descend on Manx waters in November for two weeks and it's feared that their over fishing has been wiping out the scallop populations.
In 2008 alone over 100,000 tonnes of scallops were landed.
The Scottish fisheries minister Richard Lochhead has slammed the move branding it a 'War against Scots'.
Vessels of over a certain size have been banned outright from fishing for the popular seafood.
The Island has so far defended its position saying it has simply been a choice between sustainable and non-sustainable fishing.
