Scottish air links could be restored by 2014

Negotiations to re-establish a direct air link with Scotland are underway and something could be in place by next year.

That's according to the Island's Chief Minister who says discussions are going well after the route was scrapped earlier this year.

The pledge to reinstate a flight route was made by the country's First Minister and backed by Allan Bell during Alex Salmond's visit last month.

Passengers travelling to and from Scotland are currently being diverted via Manchester adding around 90 minutes to travelling time.

Mr Bell says plans to rectify this are progressing:
