Schools on the Island will finish two days earlier for summer for the next two years.
The Department of Education says the change is to accommodate teacher training.
As a result, schools will break up on Friday July 19 in 2024, instead of Tuesday July 23 as previously planned.
Minister Julie Edge says ultimately this decision will benefit teachers, students and educational establishments and they wanted parents to have as much notice as possible.
