All schools across the Island will stay open past home time.
The government says with strong winds forecast this afternoon, its taken the decision to keep all schools open past their usual hours.
It says the safest place for children is inside and facilities will be made available at all schools until the worst of the weather has passed.
It adds the department of Education, Sport and Culture is keeping a close eye on the situation and seeks to assure parents all children using school buses will be transported as normal, once winds have dropped.
